Who We Are

Catholic Campus Ministry

Mission Statement:
" The Catholic Campus Ministry is present here at Hawaii to serve students, faculty, and staff. Our mission is to illuminate Christ in the daily pursuit of spiritual and intellectual growth; in this diverse HPU community where Christ is present and exists intimately among us. We assist and foster service to the University community and to the community at large, and actively promote friendship, fellowship and fun. "

Goals:

  • To gather as a community of faith and friendship

  • To develop a personal spirituality

  • To integrate awareness and action of justice in our society

  • To expand a sense of talents and gifts to be shared in our society

  • To develop leadership to serve the faith community and our society

CCM seeks to serve the academic community at HPU by promoting a:

Family of Faith
In today's challenging academic world, Campus Ministry offers the opportunity for students, faculty, and staff to gather as a community of faith on the college campus.

  • Usually HPU students attend mass at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Peace, at St. Augustine in Waikiki, and some students attend mass at the Newman Center UH.

  • Last Fall, a thanksgiving mass was held at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Peace for students and faculties of HPU. It was organized by HPU Campus Ministry.

Choose Christ
At the time when the college student and young adult is making major life decisions about relationships, faith, vocation, and career, the campus ministry is called to invite and share the light of Christ in their life as an adult
  • Faith sharing groups have been held weekly at different venues

  • Weekly fellowships are held in different campuses

Shepherding

A faith that does justice
Campus ministry heightens the awareness of the academic community and sparks action that promotes the values of the kingdom of God in this world.
